Install Your Glittery HID Kit With Fool-Proof Tips
If you're bored with the poor lighting conditions of your motorbike, car or SUV and want to render it a facelift, a HID Kit is definitely what you must look for. A HID Kit consisting of xenon bulbs, digital waterproof and dust-proof ballast, and ballast holders is quite long-lasting with high quality bulbs and powerful ignitor. Switching the HID lights on or off won't consume the energy of your battery. Their high intensity discharge covers a wider area to provide you a safe and smooth driving experience during night.
Installing a HID Kit on your vehicle can save you a lot of money. If you have a car of 2000 model without a closed beam, then it is less costly to convert to HID headlamps. You can also install the lights on your own. However, it would be better to hire a reliable mechanic to install the headlamps from your HID Kit if you have limited knowledge regarding electronics and automotives. There are certain useful tips that you can follow during installation of HID lights.
o It is not recommended to touch the glass area of the bulb with hands during installation. If it is possible, use gloves instead of bare hands.
o When you install HID Xenon lamp, make sure that the ballast is placed in a drafty (not airtight) area to spread out heat. Avoid placing the ballast close to the engine or fan that releases a great deal of heat. In case, the ballast temperature mounts to 105 degrees, the over heat protection will close off the power automatically.
o Ensure that you've provided adequate ground for the negative during installation. It must be grounded to metal; otherwise, the HID light will shine unsteadily due to a poor ground.
o Check all the connections properly. The plug in of the lights socket, and the positive and negative of the power must be well connected to avoid below par performance of lights.
o While making adjustments to the bulb, you shouldn't allow the end of the bulb to come in contact with the internal glare shield of the headlamp assembly.
o It is advisable to carry out the installation process of your HID Kit only when the engine completely turns cold.
o Disconnect the power source before going for installation.
o If you have made any connections directly to the battery, these must run through safety check before connecting power.
o Your vehicle must be in neutral or park position before you install the HID Kit.
o Observe caution, as the output of the ballast will generate high voltage. Don't look directly into the light while turning on the headlamp as it will damage your eyes.
o Similarly, don't touch the bulb after turning it on to avoid burns to your skin.
o Keeping your HID Kit near flammable goods like paper, spray, oils, dilutants, etc. can expose it to danger.
o All warranty on your HID Kit will be nullified if you disassemble or tamper with the system and the supplier or the manufacturer won't be accountable for any mishaps after that. Seek professional help if repair or replacement is required.
